I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Tanner Petulla AKA, Getter, to discuss his huge spike in success in the last six months and what it means for him moving forward. Having released his brand new E.P. this month called ‘Radical Dude’ released on OWSLA.

“My new E.P. is 6 tracks and I’ve been working on this for so long and it’s finally done. We’ve got a bunch of music videos lined up and it’s so overwhelming because I have so much going on. I have new music coming out and my clothing line is taking off, but it’s all good.”

Even though the E.P. is a huge accomplishment this year for Getter, he has actually just finished producing the entire Pouya album.

“Pouya has always been my favorite for about 3 years now, I just love his style. My friend Johnny, who actually just passed recently, he’s the one who showed me Pouya and I fell in love with Pouya’s verses and my roommate Nick went on tour with him as a host which led to me meeting him. He gave me a chance to produce some songs for him and those songs were his biggest tracks so he decided to let me produce the entire album for him. It’s super dope. It comes out the end of April.”

Speaking more about his own clothing line called, ‘Trippy Burger’, Getter discussed a bit more in depth about its origins.

“It’s me and my friend Nick Colletti’s clothing brand. We have the official ‘Suh Dude’ shirts on there because it seems like everybody is creating their own fake ones. A ton of Getter merch, Nick Colletti merch, trippy burger stuff, and official ‘Suh Dude’ items for sale. Also, my girlfriend Avery, aka, Young Avery, she’s doing all of the woman’s clothes so we’ve got a nice thing going right now. TrippyBurger.com, check it out!”

With all of this said and done, Getter is undoubtedly one of this year’s fastest rising artists. Getter explains what it’s been like for the past few months.

“It’s definitely dope. I’ve been working for this for about six years. I think the social media presence and the whole ‘Suh Dude’ thing kind of jump started it which I’m totally cool with because everyone needs a jumpstart somewhere. But it’s cool because I feel like my music is the best it’s ever been so it’s been great seeing all the new fans loving my new stuff instead of my older music because I’m not even a fan of my old stuff. It’s cool to have a ton of people at all my shows now and have everyone watching my music videos. I have to adjust but it’s awesome.”

Nearing the end of the interview, Getter wanted to give a piece of advice to all of the young producers out there.

“I know it sounds corny, but if you be yourself and put all of your OWN ideas into your brand and into your music it will all work out. Everyone tries to do what someone else is doing and you can never get famous doing it that way and that immediately puts you at second best at what you’re trying to imitate. So if you do what YOU want and make up your own styles, be stupid, be weird, be whatever you actually are, that’s what people pay attention too. Also, be consistent. Always post on social media every single day. Never go a day without twitter, that’s the biggest advice.”

Lastly, Getter wanted to let his fans know what he has in store for them this upcoming Summer.

“I’m setting up a tour for the end of the year. It’s going to be long one with a ton of special guests and it’s going to be awesome. Head over to TrippyBurger.com and buy some cool stuff and most of all just have fun and pimp out.”
