Darq E Freaker Shares His Musical Guilty Pleasures

Having just released two singles as part of a new series, UK artist Darq E Freaker is firmly on our radar. Responsible for some killer grime and bass tunes, we wanted to hear the sounds that he still can't get enough of.

Check out his Musical Guilty Pleasures below.

1) Jamiroquai – “Virtual Insanity” / “Cosmic Girl” / “Deeper Underground”

I remember early into making music and this guy was everywhere. Some of the first pop music that I heard and really liked – plus it was something British.

2) Mr Oizo – “Flat Beat”

At early electronic hit in the popular sense that ended up influencing a generation of producers. Such a special track.

3) Calvin Harris – “I Created Disco”

Banger from 10 years ago from when Calvin Harris made really good, disco-influenced electro tunes. That album was a big influence for me.

4) Fat Boy Slim – “Right Here, Right Now”

Such a massive track and visceral intensity. A track for me that really defined the drop.

5) Aphex Twin – “Window Licker”

Hugely influential track for me. Made me realise that you can make ‘strange' or ‘weird' music and reach a huge audience almost on a pop-level. The video is also AMAZING and I suggest everyone to watch it if they have not seen it before.
