Life In Color: Interview with Nitti Gritti

It was the 10 year anniversary of the world’s largest paint party, everyone was covered in paint and the artists were going ham. For some, it was their first time performing, for others it was a greater milestone. We had the wonderful chance to sit down to interview the multitalented Nitti Gritti.

In the world of dubstep, there's a name that's pushed the boundaries of bass music, supported by heavyweight artists by the likes of Jauz, Slander, and NGHTMRE, has sprung among the dance music community, and his name is Nitti Gritti. Over the past six months, he managed to release eleven releases that have captivated millions of followers with his remakes of popular tracks such as Gud Vibrations and Marching On but truly won over an enormous following with his original track Dirty Dancing. “It was almost surreal when I first heard my track being played, I couldn’t believe it at first.” As well as bringing forth his raw musical talent and remarkable skills in Music Production. Nitti Gritti highlights his creative talent through his video releases, his most recent being his insane drum cover of some of his most well-known tracks. “I’ve been playing music and writing songs for a long time I’m only 22 but I played piano, drums, guitar.”

Adding on to the list of success, he had the chance to perform on the Main Stage at Life In Color in Wynwood. “When I first find out, I started screaming, then when I find out that I was playing MainStage it took me back a little. It was a satisfaction that all my work is paying off.” Dressed in his signature pink jacket he delivers fans an explosive set for everyone to remember. The entire stage was rumbling from his energy and the fans it was absolutely insane, how everyone was feeding off of each other. Since it was LIC, I had to ask if you were a color what would it be, immediately he says “PINK! Only real men wear pink”.

Shortly after his killer set, he was invited by friends BXC for their performance. “One of my favorite parts of LIC was being able to play with my homies BXC it’s so much fun, I’m still jacked up from playing B2B with BXC on the MainStage. We’re all homies at NU Management, we’re a family.” Mixing and mashing-up every song imaginable, you may find yourself asking what else does he listen to? “I still listen to everything, all genres of music, and some songs do inspire to me create new material.” I listen to Frank Sinatra, Jazz, rock n roll, and Taking Back Sunday.” Hearing that just put a grin on my face, both so passionate about discussing favorite musicians and rock bands.

After all the achievements Nitti Gritti has done within a just year. From making his debut performance at numerous festivals such as Nocturnal Wonderland, EDC Orlando, and performing MainStage at Life In Color there is nothing getting in his way. Look out Nitti Gritti is coming your way.
