There are peaks and valleys when it comes to music. Lately it feels that we have been on a peak. Genres rise and fall then rise again. With producers like Seven Lions, Porter Robinson, Crywolf, Haywyre, Mitis, and Siren all breathing life into the melodic dubstep scene I could not be a happier camper.
Enter Faux Tales, a Swiss producer with a knack for composing beautiful music. Faux Tales most recent two track EP Ascent is a prime example of such beautiful music. The first of the two tracks Ascent is an ethereal piece which rises and then releases with grace and power. With an almost Game of Thrones feel to it, the percussion backing to this track keeps a steady march.
If Ascent is meant to act as the rise then Mirage, the second track on the EP, is the pinnacle. A mirage is an optical illusion caused by atmospheric conditions. There are no illusion to this track, however the atmospheric conditions provide foundation of which this song is built off of. With a mix of some angry dubstep growls paired with harmonic synth work and delicate violins this song crashes down developing into one breathtaking song.
Faux Tales is someone you should have on your radar. His talent proves he will be a force to be reckoned with. You can pick up the Ascent EP HERE.
