EDM Artists >> Lexy Panterra

Lexy Panterra built her name in movement and dance content first, but she’s also put together a genuine dance-pop discography that’s easy to overlook if you’re not paying attention. Born Alexis Liela Afshar and based in Los Angeles, she dropped her debut solo single “Lit” back in 2015, followed it with “Used to Know,” and kept building out a catalog of club-leaning pop records from there.

Her 2017 single “So Good” showed she could carry a track on her own, and she’s linked up with a genuinely interesting mix of collaborators since — a feature from Too $hort on “Off and On,” a track with producer Harber called “More Than You,” and a guest spot on the Stafford Brothers’ “Live Forever.” She also teamed up with Trina for “Booty on Her” and lent vocals to Shaun Frank’s “Where Do You Go,” which puts her in direct collaboration with an actual EDM producer and songwriter, not just a pop crossover play. In 2018 she kept the pace up with “Uncertainty” alongside Kevin Courtois and “Get Loud!” with Piques, plus the solo cut “Lies.”

More recently she’s kept releasing new material, including the electro-pop single “Under Me” and “Depend on You,” showing the music side of her career hasn’t slowed down even as her profile as a dance and movement personality has grown alongside it. That’s really the throughline with Lexy Panterra — she’s never been just one thing. The dance content built her platform, but the music has been a consistent, ongoing part of her output for close to a decade now, with a real string of singles and collaborations to show for it.

She’s not chasing festival main stages the way a traditional EDM artist might, but her run of dance-pop singles and features with names like Shaun Frank and the Stafford Brothers puts her in genuine conversation with the dance-pop side of the scene. Worth keeping an eye on if her production side keeps expanding.
