Singer, songwriter, and rock legend Tom Petty is in full cardiac arrest.
TMZ reported that the “Free Fallin'” singer was found unconscious and not breathing in his Malibu home. He was then taken to the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital where had “had no brain activity.”
At 1:35pm, sources told TMZ that a chaplain was called to Tom's hospital room and that the family has a do not resuscitate order on Tom. The singer is not expected to live throughout the day, but he's still clinging to life.
He died peacefully at 8:40pm PST surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends.
The Florida native singer is best known for his hit singles with his band, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.
