Illenium Plays His Unreleased Remix of Marshmello At Lost Lands

This past weekend, Excision’s Lost Lands Music Festival was nothing short of incredible. With more than 500,000 watts of bass, Illenium, REZZ, Excision and many of today’s other top DJs graced the stage.

As Illenium shared some of his hit singles from the past couple of years, the DJ and producer also managed to tease his unreleased remix of Marshmello and Khalid’s “Silence.”

Take a look at the original and remix below:

I have so many filthy videos that I will eventually post but tonight Illenium's set really took me to such a happy place. When he dropped Feel Good I cried for the first time ever at a music festival but they were tears of joy!! Lost Lands was one of the greatest weekends of my life, I haven't been this happy in a long time. Danced all weekend, met some amazing people, and I don't want to leave!! Here's a remix by @illeniummusic of @marshmellomusic & @thegr8khalid's track Silence. 🙂🔊♥️#LostLands

The remix didn’t stay unreleased for long

Unlike a lot of festival-teased IDs that vanish into thin air, this one actually made it out. Illenium’s remix of “Silence” got an official release not long after this Lost Lands preview, going out through Joytime Collective and RCA Records and landing on streaming platforms for fans to finally add to their own playlists instead of hunting down shaky festival clips.

The timing lined up well with where both artists were in their careers. Marshmello was in the middle of an enormous run as one of dance music’s biggest crossover stars, while Illenium was quickly building a reputation as one of the genre’s most emotionally resonant producers, a reputation this exact Lost Lands set (and its “Feel Good” moment, as described by the fan who posted this clip) only helped cement. Khalid, for his part, was fresh off his breakout debut album and already established as one of R&B’s most in-demand young voices for collaborations like this one.

Lost Lands has continued to grow into one of bass music’s premier festivals since 2017, and moments like this Illenium tease are exactly the kind of unexpected festival surprise that keeps fans coming back every year hoping to catch the next unreleased gem live before it ever hits streaming.
