DJ Texs Biography
[box type=”shadow”]Ever since middle school, I’ve had a huge interest in music. It started in Katy, TX when I joined the school band and later graduated to the Taylor High School band. Obviously it’s been a journey to the Electro House DJ I am today. After high school my musical taste shifted to hard rock, which thanks to a friend, slid into heavy dubstep. After dabbling in dubstep for a while, I was lucky enough to discover a website called turntable.fm from which I was introduced to the abundance of other types of EDM. On turntable.fm I was able to virtually visit stages I could pick a song to play and receive feedback from the crowd. After a couple months I was able to meet people in the EDM scene whom soon turned into friends, and then supporters who started to help build my confidence. After some research and a few purchases, I started doing live broad casts to my friends from turntable.fm who would then share them with their friends which eventually snowballed into the fan base I have now! As I mixed more often with songs by artists such as Above & Beyond, Tommy Trash, Diplo and Markus Schulz, I started getting noticed by more local friends and coworkers. Through word of mouth I’ve been able to play at clubs in Houston and Galveston, Texas. I’m now mastering my Traktor S4 in local clubs all over Houston and Galveston like The Lounge, Saka, Krypotonite, Cullens and with a new residency at The Granite Room for Reckless Thursdays. And putting out a weekly podcast of a live mix with new songs each week.[/box]
