After Apple shelled out $3 billion for Beats Electronics earlier this month, it appears Apple wants to continue to shake up the market.
According to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple has submitted a specifcation to its MFi (Made For) licensing program for headphones to connect using Apple's Lightning port instead of the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Lightning port is said to offer lossless sound quality, while headphones with Lightning connectors could have specific app controls.
