Could The Avicii Documentary Be Coming Back?

Once upon a time, there was a documentary about Avicii called True Stories that you could find on Netflix. The documentary showed the hectic life of the world famous DJ, from touring to his health problems. Shortly after the DJ’s death, the documentary had been removed from Netflix and hasn’t returned yet.
But today, the producer of True Stories posted a mysterious blurred out picture on Instagram with the caption: “Watch out.❗️❗️❗️#somethingiscomingsoon #ATS”. The blurred photo does have a silhouette similar to Avicii causing speculation that ATS stands for Avicii: True Stories.
We don’t know for sure if the Documentary will be returning or if it is a newer version since the artists passing. Keep your eyes peeled on social media and Netflix because we could have something happening soon!
Take a look at the post below:
What actually happened with the documentary
The teasing paid off. Avicii: True Stories, directed by Levan Tsikurishvili, had already run in limited theaters in October 2017, and it went on to land a full worldwide release on Netflix on December 28, 2018, not long after that cryptic Instagram post made the rounds. The film earned largely positive reviews from critics, holding an 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with outlets like The Hollywood Reporter and The New York Times praising its honest look at the pressure that came with Avicii’s rapid rise to fame.
Avicii’s legacy beyond the documentary
In the years following the documentary’s return, Avicii’s family and team also built out his legacy in other ways. The Tim Bergling Foundation was established in his memory to support mental health awareness and suicide prevention initiatives. A posthumous album, TIM, followed on June 6, 2019, featuring contributions from collaborators like Chris Martin, Aloe Blacc, and Imagine Dragons, with all proceeds from the album going toward the foundation’s work. The album reached number one in several countries, including Sweden and the Netherlands, giving fans one more chance to hear new music from one of dance music’s most influential producers.
