MitiS Away (Feat. Gioto)
MitiS has released Away featuring Gioto on Seeking Blue Records. This is the latest single from the upcoming album Til The End. With a tour ready to kick off to support the album this will be the year MitiS gets the recognition he deserves. After the success of many remixes, of which include Seven Lions and Gareth Emery, plus a catalog of originals a few years deep, MitiS is set up to have a terrific tour.
For anyone keeping track of the release calendar, Til The End is set to land as a full-length album on March 23rd, just a few weeks after this single, with the supporting tour kicking off around the same window so fans get a chance to hear these tracks live almost as soon as they drop. It’s a pretty ambitious rollout for an artist who’s spent the last several years building his catalog one single and remix at a time rather than rushing out a debut, which makes the fact that a full album is finally on the way feel like a genuinely big deal for longtime fans.
Away begins with crickets chirping setting a naturistic vibe. Gioto’s voice starts off the track draped over a guitar riff. MitiS is known for composing delightful music and Away is yet another example of his superior melody creation. I really enjoy the mixdown on the percussion , I think that the time it took to make this album is starting to show dividends. That organic, naturistic open-into-guitar structure is becoming something of a signature for MitiS, and it’s a nice reminder that “melodic bass” doesn’t have to mean wall-to-wall synths — sometimes the most emotional moment on a dance track is just a voice and a guitar before the drop even shows up. If Away is any indication of where Til The End is headed as a full album, this could end up being one of the more replayable melodic bass records of the year, and it’s easy to see why Seeking Blue Records has been happy to keep building around him as a flagship artist on the label.
