Seven Lions Presents Chronicles Chapter 1 Event Series
Seven Lions has announced an event series branded Chronicles. This is also labeled chapter 1, leading me to believe there will be multiple shows or chapters. The event will be some of his favorite acts joining him at the WAMU Theater in Seattle on May 12, 2018. As far as who will be on the lineup, that is anyone’s guess. With names like MitiS and Echos to Above and Beyond and Kaskade the Observatory playlist on Spotify, which you can find here, has had enough names to pull speculation from.
The thing I love most about Seven Lions is you never know what direction he is going. This lineup could end up being a cornucopia of musical genres blended perfectly together, much like a Seven Lions set. What you can expect is to see Seven Lions play two contrasting sets to book-end the event’s musical journey. Opening up the room with a special ‘Observatory’ set, Seven Lions will explore his deeper and more experimental side as with his recently launched mix series, whilst his headline closing set will provide the classic peak-time Seven Lions experience that he has imported to festival stages, clubs and theatre halls across the globe. Needless to say this is my event of the year!

Update: The Show Actually Sold Out
Turns out the hype was earned. Chronicles Chapter 1 went down at WaMu Theater as planned and sold the room out, with Seven Lions bringing out Jason Ross, Liquid Soul, and Kill the Noise to round out the bill. He opened with that experimental Observatory set just like promised, digging into deep cuts that rarely show up in his normal sets, then closed the night with a two-hour headline set packed with unreleased material and an unreleased remix of Above & Beyond’s “Sahara Love.” The production matched the ambition too, with an “enchanted forest” stage design, projection-mapped visuals, and giant inflatable jellyfish that made their way through the crowd during one of the set’s biggest moments.
Why “Chapter 1” Mattered
Branding this as “Chapter 1” wasn’t just marketing fluff — it set up Chronicles as an ongoing concept rather than a one-off gig, giving Seven Lions a recurring format to build out his more experimental, genre-blending side away from the festival main stage. For an artist who’s always split the difference between heavy dubstep, trance, and melodic house, having a dedicated event to stretch out in made total sense.
