The Coachella 2018 Lineup Has Finally Been Revealed
Just minutes ago, Goldenvoice revealed the official 2018 Coachella lineup. Coachella is making history this year by leaving off a rock band in a headlining spot. Living up to its rumors comes the announcement of both Beyonce, The Weeknd, and Eminem set to perform at this year’s Coachella lineup.
Beyonce’s return is a big deal on its own. She was originally supposed to headline back in 2017 before announcing she was pregnant with twins and stepping back from the lineup, with organizers promising at the time that she’d be back on the bill in 2018. That promise is now official, and she’ll be sharing top billing with The Weeknd and Eminem across both weekends — April 13-15 and April 20-22 — at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
It’s also worth pointing out just how different this year’s top of the bill looks compared to Coachella’s usual mix. Past years have almost always found room for a rock act somewhere near the top of the poster, but 2018 leans hard into pop, hip-hop, and R&B for its three biggest names instead — a pretty clear sign of where the festival, and the genre landscape in general, has been heading. Beyond the top three, this lineup is also stacked with names dance music fans will already recognize, which is always a good sign for how deep the electronic-leaning stages will run once set times get announced.
This year’s official lineup will feature The Weeknd, SZA, Kygo, Jamiroquai, the War on Drugs, Vince Staples, Beyonce, HAIM, Tyler the Creator, David Byrne, alt-J, Post Malone, Fleet Foxes, Eminem, ODESZA, Portugal the Man, Migos, REZZ, Cardi B, Miguel, A Perfect Circle, and many more.

With the announcement of The Weeknd performing this year, is it possible that Daft Punk will actually make their return this year? The Weeknd has worked closely with Daft Punk before, most notably on “Starboy” and “I Feel It Coming” off his Starboy album, so the rumor mill is already spinning about a possible surprise appearance. Nothing’s confirmed, but with a lineup this stacked, we wouldn’t rule anything out. Expect set times, the Do Lab and Heineken House electronic lineups, and plenty more announcements to trickle out over the coming weeks as we get closer to April.
