Being that today is Friday, that means one thing and one thing only, New Music! As we head into the weekend, it’s time to share this week’s newest releases with the official New EDM This Week playlist.
As part of our weekly New EDM This Week playlist, we’ve scoured the internet for all of the new releases this week. With more than 14 hours of new music and 211 songs, it’s time to introduce this week’s new songs.
This week Louis The Child released “Last To Leave,” Whethan released “Aftertaste,” Dillon Francis and Flosstradamus teamed up for “Tern It Up,” Kayzo released “FOLLOW YOU,” MitiS released “Moments,” and Steve Aoki teamed up with Lil Uzi Vert for the release of “Smoke My Dope.” In addition to these massive new singles, DJ Snake released the official remix EP for “A Different Way,” The Chainsmokers released their remix EP for “Younger,” Galantis & Throttle released their remix EP for Tell Me You Love Me,” and Steve Aoki presents Kolony releases the official remix EP as well.

These Weekly Roundups Captured A Snapshot Of A Packed Release Cycle
Looking back at a New Music Friday roundup like this one is a good reminder of just how much volume the dance music industry was pumping out on a weekly basis during this stretch of the late 2010s. Between major label singles, remix EPs, and rising-artist breakout tracks all landing on the same day, a curated playlist like this one served a real purpose for fans trying to keep up without spending hours combing through release calendars themselves.
A handful of names from this particular week went on to have a lasting impact well beyond this single Friday. Louis The Child and Whethan both continued building out their catalogs into much bigger careers, and Steve Aoki’s Kolony album era, EDM/hip-hop crossover included, remained one of the more talked-about experiments of his catalog.
