Seven Lions ‘Where I Won’t Be Found’ EP Review

For once, fans of Seven Lions rejoice and say “Happy Monday!” as we welcome in the new EP ‘Where I Won't Be Found' today. This EP features collaborations with Rico & Miella and Unlike Pluto, while several other tracks feature an array of vocalists. This EP was released off Seeking Blue, which is Mr. Suicide Sheep's label for those familiar with his popular YouTube channel.

Freesol‘ featuring Skyler Stonestreet was released two months prior while he was on his There And Back Again Spring Tour. Fans around the world sang their hearts out along to this track.

The EP's namesake track was also graciously released earlier this month, stoking the coals of the hype train. ‘Where I Won't Be Found‘ features vocals by NEONHEART.

Next comes ‘Slow Dive‘ coasting in. It's a nice change to have a male vocalist featured, and it adds to the ease of this track. The yearning lyrics glide through this future bass track smoothly.

Sun Won't Rise‘ is the first of two tracks that Rico & Miella collaborated on. As the halfway point of the EP, this song is the equivalent of catching your breath before being launched. The chill vibes combined with the melody and yearning vocals give this track a lullaby feeling.

The next track was a collaboration with Unlike Pluto. I had the pleasure of seeing Unlike Pluto on The Journey Tour last year. When this track started getting teased in Seven Lions‘ shows after that, I knew it had to be a collaboration. ‘Rescue Me‘ wastes no time and jumps right into the first verse. You can really hear Unlike Pluto's contribution by the first drop, which adds a trappy element that entices the crowd to dance. Sadly, the song is only 2:51, and we wish we could dance a little longer to it. However, it is perfect for live sets.

But, once you're done dancing, the second Rico & Miella collaboration is here to put you in your feels. ‘Without You My Love‘ romances you as soon as the first line is sang. The smooth build up reaches the drop and chorus into an unexpected beat that transforms the song into a dance hit. There are so many pieces to this track that, as a whole, evoke the word “masterpiece”.

If you attended any of The Journey Tour, ‘Steps of Deep Slumber‘ will pull you back to that magical night. This is the opener that set the tone for the journey we would embark on that night. At about 1:30 into the track is what we had typically thought to be the start, but now the full track reveals it to be so much more. Listening to the track at home or in your car will still pull out the feeling that you're about to do something epic.

Closing out this roller coaster of an EP is ‘Silent Skies‘ featuring vocals by Karra. What makes this track even more special is who helped write it! The beloved Haliene gushed on twitter about how much she enjoyed contributing to the track. Lyrics aside, this is the perfect song to end the EP. Flowing vocals dance across the melodic dubstep that many people have come to love Seven Lions for.
