Calvin Harris To Be Featured On DJ Khaled's New Album 'Grateful'

Calvin Harris continues to show that you can remain as a dance music superstar while living out a fantastically successful career in pop and hip hop. His collaboration with Offset and Frank Ocean, ‘Slide’ was damn near perfect and hit platinum status in just four months. Then came the announcement of his compilation album which features some of the most impressive names in music today. Calvin is on a roll, no doubt about that. Today though we have learned that Calvin can add another news worthy collaboration to his list, one with DJ Khaled.

The artist who is notorious for shouting his name over songs has released the full tracklist of his new album, ‘Grateful’ and about half way down the list we see Calvin being featured alongside Jeremih and Travis Scott on the tune, “Don’t Quit”. It is without a doubt a star studded line up of names on the album including Beyonce, Chance the Rapper, Drake, Jay-Z, and Migos.

‘Grateful’ Turned Into One Of 2017’s Biggest Albums

‘Grateful’ ended up dropping on June 23, 2017, right on the “JUNE23RD” date teased in that Instagram post, and it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 — a career first for DJ Khaled as a lead artist. “Don’t Quit” made the final tracklist exactly as previewed, keeping Calvin Harris, Jeremih, and Travis Scott all on the credits. The album is probably best remembered now for “I’m the One,” the Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, and Lil Wayne posse cut that became a genuine chart-topping smash that summer.

For Calvin specifically, this Khaled feature was one of several hip-hop and pop crossovers he racked up around this stretch, on top of “Slide” and his own Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 compilation album that came out the same June. It’s a good example of how comfortably Calvin was moving between the dance and hip-hop worlds by 2017, getting production and feature credits on some of the biggest hip-hop records of the year while still very much staying a dance-music headliner.
