Deadmau5 Calls Out Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike For Being Shitty Producers
The Canadian DJ and producer deadmau5 is not one shy of voicing his opinion. So after Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike released their rendition of Pirates Of The Caribbean’s theme song, deadmau5 was quick to voice his true thoughts on the track.
Deadmau5 wrote “yo ho ho ho a shitty producers life for meee” among a series of tweets showing his unenthusiastic behavior for Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s new song for Disney’s soundtrack.
What do you think of their track? Listen and let us know on Facebook what you think of their new release.

@deadmau5 Why don’t you shut up and do your own film score then and stop bitching on twitter… let your music speak for a change!

The Track That Started It All
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s big-room rework of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme dropped on May 26, 2017, timed to coincide with the theatrical release of Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” It was an official tie-in rather than a random fan cover, but that context didn’t stop deadmau5 from tearing into it, or from dragging Tiësto into the conversation over an unrelated pirate-score complaint of his own.
No Public Response From DVLM
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike never issued a public response to deadmau5’s comments, and both acts have gone on to have separate, wildly successful careers in the years since. It’s worth noting deadmau5 has a long history of taking shots at bigger-room, festival-driven producers on Twitter, including Marshmello, who also got dragged into this particular thread by other users. As with most of these spats, nobody involved ever really “won” the exchange — it just made for good Twitter theater at the time, and fans on both sides were left to pick a side based on their own taste rather than anything either camp confirmed.
