Gryffin Shares Gorgeous New ID In His Mix For Tiesto’s Club Life 529
Gryffin has been rising to fame fast and steady over the last few years. After first getting noticed for his signature brand of airy, relaxed and beautiful house. The artist took to Coachella this year and performed an absolutely brilliant set which went down as a fan favorite almost immediately.
For anyone who doesn’t know the backstory, Gryffin is the solo project of Daniel Griffith, a classically trained pianist out of San Francisco who actually cut his teeth in mashup duo White Panda before going solo. His debut single as Gryffin, “Heading Home” with Josef Salvat, dropped back in January 2016 and ended up hitting #22 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and #1 on Spotify’s Viral 50, so by the time 2017 rolled around he was already one of the more buzzed-about new names in melodic house and future bass.
This week he was the guest on Tiesto‘s Club Life and put together a full hour long mix for the legendary DJ. Club Life has been Tiësto’s weekly radio show for well over a decade at this point, and landing a guest mix slot on it is a pretty legitimate cosign for a newer artist. The mix includes artists ranging from Nora En Pura to Illenium and a tantalizing aural journey through the mind of Gryffin. What stuck out the most to us was that he open his hour long session behind the decks with a downright gorgeous new ID. We cannot wait for this one to get released. We’ll be straight with you: we couldn’t dig up a confirmed title or release date for this specific ID, so we’re not going to pretend we found one. What we do know is that Gryffin kept the hits coming all through 2017 — “Feel Good” with Illenium and Daya landed that March, “Love in Ruins” with Sinéad Harnett followed in July, and “Nobody Compares to You” with Katie Pearlman closed out the year in October. Any one of those could plausibly trace back to an early ID floating around his sets that spring, but we’re not going to put our name on a claim we can’t back up. Either way, it’s a good excuse to go back and listen to the mix in full.
