Porter Robinson Adds Another Live Edit on the Eve of the Last “Shelter” Show
It’s bittersweet, but tonight’s Shelter Live Tour performance at Coachella will be the tour’s last show. (brb crying) Though Porter Robinson and Madeon’s masterpiece will live on forever through memories, videos and “Shelter: The Movie,” the tour will be missed to say the least.
Last night, however, on the eve of the last “Shelter” show, Porter Robinson dropped a new Worlds live edit at Something Wonderful, a live edit for a track that fans have been eagerly waiting for: “Shelter.” To be honest, I have yet to listen to the live edit because I want to experience it live for myself, but I can only imagine its beauty… Watch the latest addition to Porter Robinson’s live show below as his tour with Madeon comes to close tonight! :’)

The End Of Shelter Was Really Just A New Beginning
That Coachella set really was the last time Porter Robinson and Madeon performed the Shelter Live Tour together. All told, the tour ran 43 shows across five continents over about seven months, from its debut in September 2016 through that closing Coachella set on April 23, 2017 — a genuinely massive run for a tour built around a single collaborative song, and a testament to just how much “Shelter” meant to fans by the time it wrapped up.
Porter Robinson didn’t stay quiet for long, either. He went on to launch his own festival, Second Sky, and spent years building toward his sophomore album Nurture, which finally arrived on April 23, 2021 — four years to the day after this very last Shelter show. He premiered the Nurture live set for the first time that same week, and later brought it to Second Sky in person that September. Madeon, for his part, has also performed at Second Sky over the years, keeping that old Shelter chemistry alive even after the tour itself became a memory. So while fans were right to mourn Shelter ending, Porter Robinson turned that ending into the runway for one of the most acclaimed albums of his career.
