The Weeknd and Daft Punk have been the hottest news in every corner of the music industry the past few weeks. Since the pair collaborating was first speculated through a Facebook photo, everyone has been talking non stop. Not only was it the return of the robot's radio silence since their producer credits on Kanye's ‘Yeezus', but they had paired up with one of the hottest artists in the world as well.
Soon to follow was ‘Starboy', the pair's first collaboration. It was fierce – a sultry, pop infused, banger of a track. Then of course the criticism came, mainly from the Daft Punk fan base, and to be honest the upset did make sense. While ‘Starboy' was an incredible commercial success and a stellar track, it was not Daft Punk. It was a unique blend of styles, but not what many had hoped for.
Now we move onto the most recent chapter (what might ultimately be the final chapter) of The Weeknd and Daft Punk's collaborations. ‘I Feel It Coming' is a beautiful demonstration of both artist's love of disco.
