Just last year, and actually just last month (as that is how January works), I named Two Friends as one of the most underrated artist's of 2015. Their first release in 2016 is strongly continuing their traditional of production excellence with an atypical twist for what they have been releasing lately. Two Friends' Remix of Pegboard Nerds ft. Johnny Graves' ‘Just Like That' is a bit of a departure from their more recent tropical, soul house sounds. This remix is based strongly in their progressive house roots and man does it come together beautifully.
You can hear in the melody pieces the signature light soulful hooks that have gained Two Friends so much recognition this past year. When the track drops though it is a whole new world to what we are used to. This tune shows the raw musical talent of the duo as well as adaptability. I have always said that true talent is demonstrated when an artist can change styles of production with ease and continue to find success, it is clear that Two Friends are part of this category.
