The Best Up & Comer Artist in 2015 [Reader Poll Results]

On December 16th, we asked our readers to vote for the best up and coming artists for the past year.

Many producers & DJs came out of nowhere and proved themselves to be established artists in the 2015 year.

With a total of 36,000 votes, it is time to recognize and celebrate the artists with the most votes for this year's competition.

#10: ZHU

Steven Zhu better known by his stage name ZHU is an electronic music producer whose been active in the dance music scene since 2014. Despite ZHU releasing the majority of his songs in the 2014 year, ZHU celebrated his album by touring throughout the US in the 2015 year, including a stand-out set at HARD's Day of the Dead.

#9: Fox Stevenson

Fox Stevenson is an electronic producer & DJ from Leeds, UK. While Fox Stevenson had a big 2013 and 2014 year, Fox Stevenson began to gain peak interest in the later months of 2014 and early 2015.


The 25-year-old DJ and producer known as NGHTMRE is fairly new to the scene. Having just a couple years of experience, NGHTMRE has proven himself to be a true up and coming artist in the 2015 year. After countless hit tracks with Flosstradamus, Slander and many other key artists, NGHTMRE continues to bring something organic to the scene.

#7: Illenium

The Denver-based producer known as Illenium has been turning heads in the dance music community for good reason. Illenium caught our eye with his remix of Oh Wonder's “Shark” and we've never looked back since eyeing him.

#6: Marshmello

The mystery behind the anonymous DJ & producer, Marshmello has captured the audience of millions in the dance music community. Marshmello typically leans more towards Future Bass and Trap music and continues to release his track after hit track. While Marshmello‘s remix of Adele's “Hello” has been taken down due to copyright reasons, Marshmello continues to play his hit remix at festivals and sets.

#5: JAUZ

Jauz is an artist who should be very pleased with his 2015 year. JAUZ came out of nowhere in 2014 and continued to release one hit track after another. JAUZ's track with Ephwurd titled “Rock The Party” even took home our reader poll's ‘best original dance music track‘ of the 2015 year.

#4: Crywolf

Justin Phillips otherwise known as Crywolf is a producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles, California. Despite kicking his career off in 2013 with many different hit tracks and albums, Crywolf really began to gain popularity among a set group of fans in the 2015 year.

#3: Elephante

Tim Wu otherwise known as Elephante is an American producer and DJ based in Los Angeles, California. Elephante was recently signed to Creative Artists Agency ‘CAA' and has played many of today's biggest festivals. Back when Elephante released “I Want You” featuring RUMORS, we knew he'd have a huge 2015 year.

#2: Eden

Jonathan NG better known as EDEN – Official, is an Irish singer, instrumentalist, songwriter and music producer. EDEN recently released his full length album ‘End Credits EP‘ released through his label MXMXCV and has amassed a whopping 4.5 million plays on SoundCloud.

#1: OMFG

Back in December of last year, we discovered a track titled “Hello” by OMFG. The track which we predicted to go viral has now amassed over 55 million views on YouTube and 5 million listens on SoundCloud. ‘Alex OMFG‘ is loved by fans due to her catchy and joyful music creations.
