Fans of the hit HBO drama Game of Thrones might be surprised to learn that one of its characters is not just another celebrity posing as a DJ in his spare time – he's actually a very accomplished travelling entertainer who just had a formal label release on the heels of a legit tour. It's rare that a guy puts his “Theatrical bookings” and his “DJ Bookings” contact on his Soundcloud page, but that's what we have here with Kristian Nairn – known to the majority of his fans as “Hodor” from G.O.T.
As it turns out, Nairn has been traveling and chopping it up for a while. Check out his mixes on Soundcloud and Mixcloud (he's been going for a few years). At the end of June, he wrapped up a three-month long “Rave of Thrones” Tour which included over a dozen dates in North America.
His latest work is a retro-sounding tune with a classic piano lead that fades in and out with Leanne Robinson delivering the vocals. Complemented by an upbeat rhythm, “Up” (Club Mix) is one of Nairn's first major releases.
