Very recently I posted about Electric Adventure, a dope forthcoming festival on the Atlantic City oceanfront that takes place during the first two days of August. And to help build some hype for the upcoming event, I'll be listing 5 acts who you need to see if you're in New Jersey 8/1 or 8/2. My choices are in no particular order, but you should most definitely try to catch all of these guys performances – check it out;
Keys N Krates
I had the chance of meeting this incredibly talented trio at SXSW 2014 and they were all really cool and humble, then I actually saw them perform and was blown away. Their unique hybrid style brings together electronic trap sounds with a bad ass live drummer who switches back and forth between an acoustic and electronic drum set. They've crushed it every time [3 going on 4] times I've seen them, watch them perform ” ” below and understand why these guys are a must see act at Electric Adventure.
Henry Fong
Being a current Orlando native I've heard plenty of things about Henry Fong, a producer / DJ who used to also reside in Central Florida, and mostly all of them are positive. He's been in the game for a couple of years now and has released music through Spinnin, DOORN, OWSLA, Dim Mak, Mad Decent and a handful of other well respected labels / imprints. Stream & Download his latest release to get you ready for his set this August;
Enough said. No but really, come on guys, it's fucking A-Trak, unless you live under a rock you've heard the man's music and are familiar with his Record Label, Fool's Gold. Peep one of his classics after the jump [those chords THOUGH], man does this one bring back some awesome memories.
I've actually never seen Pretty Lights but he [& early Bassnectar] was one of the first electronic guys that really got me into this whole scene. Obviously most people grew up hearing Daft Punk and some other O.G.'s but Pretty Light's really changed up the scene and I still too this day have the utmost respect for his incredibly hip-hop infused soundscape. Can't forget the classics;
Brillz
Brillz is ill(z). The L.A. based producer caught my attention about 2 years back when I first heard his collaborative Jay-Z flip with Z Trip and I've been hooked to his SoundCloud ever since. Would love to catch this dude live and if you're at Electric Adventure you'll have the chance, so do not miss out!
