Fatman Scoop said it best… “I felt like he [Skrillex] took dubstep, EDM and other musical genres, mixed them up, put angst in there – and there you go, that’s Skrillex.”
As Skrillex continues to expand his musical collaborations into other types of music, his latest announcement will come as a surprise to most.
From a recent Facebook post by Toto, it seems that Skrillex and What So Not will be teaming up with the 6-piece band Toto.
Toto said:
“It is VERY melodic and Joe and I sang and the band is very cool and Skrillex is a very nice guy and very creative as are the team “What So Not' It was a ‘love fest' right away and we created something from a germ of an idea they had and it was a meeting of 2 generations.. NEVER would have thought it worked.. they called US and we went and ended up writing and recording a VERY cool piece. It will be interesting to see what they do with this. I love a new fresh challenge. We all walked away happy on both sides. Great experiment that worked. Dont worry.. Toto is NOT going dubstep haha It was fun session and we made some new friends.”
