The German House veterans Booka Shade haven’t exactly had an easy run in recent days. Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier nearly broke up halfway through recording their newest album and have left their label Get Physical Records, a label the two founded more than a decade ago along with M.A.N.D.Y.
Having relocated to Manchester’s Eve Studios, the duo has rediscovered their inspiration through traditional recording methods via the studios renowned cache of vintage equipment.
“It made us feel like a band again,” the band said. “It was like going back to the beginning.”
Named after Eve Studios, Booka Shade’s 12-track LP Eve features guest appearances from Groove Armada’s Andy Cato and techno-soul-singer Fritz Kalkbrenner. The album is set to drop November 1 through Embassy One and Booka Shade’s Blaufield Music. Check out their first single Love, Inc. below and preorder their album on iTunes here.
