Turntable.fm Kills Music Uploads, Only Will Stream From SoundCloud

Turntable.fm was once the go-to for sharing music with others and in fact one of my favorite websites. Unfortunately Turntable.fm has been been losing popularity ever since it launched in 2011. Now it seems that Turntable.fm has killed off one of the most prominent features about the website: the ability to upload tracks that were not in the standard music catalog which is licensed from MediaNet.

The upload feature allowed many up and coming artists to post songs, remixes and mashups that they had recorded to be played on Turntable. Turntable users will now still be able to play those songs, but first they will have to be added by uploading that song to SoundCloud, meaning one will have to deal with SoundCloud's copyright infringements.
