Apparently, executives from Spotify have made “multiple trips to” India over the last year to prepare for its launch. While Google Play Music All Access and Apple Music is currently available in India for just Rs. 89 a month, Spotify and Amazon have a huge potential to dominate the marketplace.
In March, Spotify reported they have 50 million paid subscribers which is up 20 million additional people since the previous year. A launch in India would likely drastically increase the total number of subscribers.
