It's already been over one and half years since the GoPro Hero4 Black and Silver versions were introduced. Labeled as “simply the best GoPro, ever,” GoPro has announced its newest addition, the Hero5. This new GoPro cube will now let you record your adventures at music festivals, but you may be asking yourself, what's new?
The GoPro Hero5 captures 4k footage at up to 30 frames per second like the Hero4, but will also allow you to shoot 1920 x 1080 at 120 frames per second, 2k at 60 frames per second. To help improve the video quality of your footage, the GoPro Hero5 will use image stabilization to help smooth out the footage.
In addition to the upgraded resolution, GoPro has made an external waterproof shell which allows users to take the GoPro in water up to 30 feet deep. Like Garmin's VIRB Ultra 30 action cam, the new GoPro Camera will allow you to operate the device hands-free using voice commands. So now when you say “GoPro start video” or “GoPro take a photo,” the new GoPro will do just that.
