The dates landed with some ceremony — Ultra announced them alongside an official honor from Miami-Dade County earlier this year, a notably warm gesture for a festival that's spent stretches of its history fighting City Hall over noise complaints and venue leases. Twenty-plus editions in, Ultra and Miami have settled into something like a functional marriage: downtown gets its skyline on every festival livestream on Earth, and the festival gets its waterfront home.
No lineup yet, and there won't be for a while — Ultra typically rolls out its phase-one announcement in the winter. But the festival's booking pattern is the most predictable big-swing in dance music in the best way: expect the giants (recent editions have leaned on the likes of Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta and Hardwell), a stacked RESISTANCE program for the techno faithful, and at least one reunion or “exclusive set” designed to break the internet in February.
The 2027 week is shaping up bigger than usual, too. Winter Music Conference has confirmed its return for March 24-26 at the Kimpton EPIC — its 37th edition — which means the full industry apparatus of panels, pool parties and showcases runs right into Ultra weekend. Ultra's early on-sale strategy has become standard for the mega-festivals — Coachella 2027 tickets moved back in May, and EDC Las Vegas' new two-weekend 2027 passes did the same. Payment plans soften the blow, but the era of deciding to attend a major festival the month before is basically over.
