Kygo Announced to Perform at Ultra Music Festival
Ultra Music Festival has officially announced that Kygo will be performing at this upcoming Miami event. Since the Phase 1 lineup announcement last year, the popular music festival has remained quiet about any other artists that are set to perform at Ultra Miami. Future attendees and fans have been impatiently waiting for the phase 2 lineup arrival, but there hasn’t been anything as of yet. However, one additional artist has been announced today. Although it is not a full list of artists, at least it’s an additional headliner that we all adore and love.

Kygo is set to perform on the main stage during Ultra Music Festival. Performing a sunset set, this is one performance that you cannot miss. This artist has not performed at Ultra since 2017; what better way to watch the sunset than with the beautiful sounds of tropical house? This talented artist is known for creating monumental tracks such as “Family” featuring the Chainsmokers, “It Ain’t Me” featuring Selena Gomez, “Think About You,” and, his most beloved track, “Firestone” featuring Conrad Sewell.

This Sunset Set Never Actually Happened
Unfortunately, the long-awaited Kygo comeback set announced here never made it to the mainstage. Ultra Music Festival 2020 was officially cancelled in early March, just weeks before it was set to take place, as concerns over the spreading coronavirus pandemic made large-scale festivals impossible to safely hold. It was one of the first major dance music events to fall as the pandemic began shutting down live music worldwide, and Kygo’s return to the Ultra stage got pushed off indefinitely along with the rest of that year’s lineup.
Ultra’s Cancellation Was A Sign Of What Was Coming
Looking back, this announcement landed right at the edge of a massive shift for the entire festival industry. Ultra’s cancellation in March 2020 turned out to be an early domino in a chain that would eventually wipe out nearly the entire festival calendar for well over a year. Kygo, like most touring artists, ended up pivoting toward livestream sets and smaller outdoor shows in the months that followed, until Ultra and the rest of the festival circuit were finally able to return in the years after.
