Odesza Featured In New Game Of Thrones Season Teaser
In case you didn’t know, Game of Thrones’ final season debuted last night on HBO. Fans have been waiting nearly two years for the shows final season to take place. In order to ramp the excitement, even more, HBO debuted a countdown teaser video for the upcoming season. Fans were quick to notice that the video was set to Odesza’s ‘Corners of the Earth’.
This marks the second time in the last 6 months Odesza has been featured in a major television production, as their hit single, ‘Loyal’ was used in the latest iPhone commercial for Apple which was debuted during the companies keynote.
HBO had a bit of a blunder when they accidentally credited the music to XAMBASSADORS instead of Odesza, but the error has since been corrected. Check out the clip below with Odesza and Game of Thrones, and don’t worry there are no spoilers to be found here. Just quality music.

A Big Year For Odesza’s Sync Placements
Between the Apple spot for the iPhone XS and now this Game of Thrones countdown teaser, Odesza landed two of the biggest sync placements a dance act can get within about six months of each other. ‘Loyal’ soundtracked Apple’s September 2018 iPhone keynote, and ‘Corners of the Earth,’ off their album ‘A Moment Apart,’ scored HBO’s own hype video for the most anticipated TV premiere of the year. That’s the kind of exposure most artists spend a whole career chasing.
Why It Matters For The Duo
Odesza built their sound around exactly this kind of widescreen, emotional production, big atmospheric builds that were always going to translate well to trailers and commercials. Landing back-to-back placements with Apple and HBO isn’t just a nice payday, it puts their music in front of an audience way outside the usual festival crowd, the kind of crossover moment that turns a well-loved dance act into a household name. The HBO mixup crediting the clip to X Ambassadors got fixed quickly, but it’s also a small reminder of how easy it still is for even a huge sync placement to overshadow the actual artist behind the music.
