You Can Buy The Massive Avicii Flag From Tomorrowland, Signed By Multiple Artists And All Proceeds Go To Charity

During Tomorrowland this past year, there were many emotional moments surrounding the remembrance of Avicii. The festival took place only three short months after the iconic producer passed away. One of the most memorable moments during the festival is when fans in the crowd revealed a massive 33x52ft flag sporting Avicii’s face. The flag was unraveled as Avicii‘s music played out and fans all over the world who were watching the live stream noted the impact the moment had on them.

The flag itself was created by Swedes to Tomorrowland, a Swedish Facebook community of fans who make the trip to Boom, Belgium every year. The banner measures roughly 16 by 10 meters and weighs about 20 kilograms, and the crowd raised it not once but twice over the course of the festival, both moments drawing attention from fans and media well outside the usual EDM circles. After Tomorrowland wrapped, the group brought the flag along to shows and festivals so some of the artists closest to Avicii’s world could add their signatures to it.

Now, the owners of the flag are auctioning it off with all proceeds going to the Swedish NGO, Suicide Zero, an organization dedicated to suicide prevention awareness and support in Sweden. Jonas Thordeman of Swedes to Tomorrowland explained the choice, saying the charity’s “work and purpose are in line with our tribute,” a sentiment that speaks to how much thought the group put into making sure this flag meant something beyond just a piece of festival memorabilia. The flag is signed by:

• Steve Angelo
• Nicky Romero
• Don Diablo
• Dada Life
• Armin van Buuren
• Ferry Corsten
• Lost Frequencies
• Vini Vici

That lineup of signatures alone makes this a genuinely one-of-a-kind piece of dance music history, and it’s easy to see why fans have been keeping a close eye on the listing since it went up.

The starting bid for the flag is $1000, and shipping is posted at an additional $500. Given the size and weight of the banner, that shipping cost tracks, this isn’t something that’s getting folded into a regular envelope. For anyone who was in the crowd at Tomorrowland when the flag went up, or anyone who just wants to own a piece of Avicii’s memory while supporting a cause aimed at helping others, this auction is a rare chance to do both at once.
