Dada Life

Dada Life is a Swedish DJ duo composed of Stefan Engblom and Olle Cornéer, and honestly, nobody in dance music has more fun than these two. The pair linked up in Stockholm back in 2006, each already running his own solo project — Engblom as Phasio, Cornéer as Dibaba — before deciding two Swedes chasing the same absurdist, high-energy sound made way more sense as a team. Early cuts like “Fun, Fun, Fun” (2007) and “Happy Hands & Happy Feet” (2009) got the electro house crowd paying attention, and their debut album, Just Do the Dada, landed later that same year.

The pair are known for their over-the-top stage shows, which often feature confetti cannons, inflatable bananas, and giant inflatable tubes. They are also known for their love of cake, which they often throw into the crowd at their concerts. In 2012, they dropped their second album, The Rules of Dada, an electro house record that hit the Billboard 200 and spun off charting singles like “Kick Out the Epic Motherfucker” and “Feed the Dada.” Since then, they’ve released two more full-lengths — Our Nation (2018) and Blood, Sweat & Smiles (2022) — and toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States.

What really sets Dada Life apart is that the chaos isn’t just a gimmick, it’s a whole brand. They run their own label, Crash & Smile, built on the motto “no rules but the rules of dada,” and they even turned a studio in-joke into a real product: the Sausage Fattener, a saturation plugin producers actually use in their sessions. They’ve picked up a couple of Guinness World Records along the way too, for stunts like the largest pillow fight and the largest gathering of people dressed as fruit, because of course they did. On the collab side, they linked with Lzzy Hale of Halestorm for the rock-meets-rave anthem “Tic Tic Tic” back in 2016.

Dada Life is currently one of the most popular EDM acts in the world, and their unique blend of humor and high-energy music has earned them a devoted following among ravers and clubbers alike. They’re still very much active too, dropping monthly DJ mixes on SoundCloud all through 2025 and releasing the single “Live Loud” with RAVEKINGS on Revealed Recordings. Bananas, cake, and champagne showers aside, Dada Life keeps proving that dance music is supposed to be a party first.
