Even though Noisestorm's “Crab Rave” was released this past year as an April Fool's joke by Monstercat, the meme video has exploded in popularity. So much so that “Crab Rave” has officially entered the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart.
To date, “Crab Rave” is Monstercat's 14th most popular music video and the top video on Monstercat's Instinct channel.
Billboard writes “The track earned 1 million U.S. streams, in the week ending Nov. 22, according to Nielsen Music, and surges thanks to a growing number of memes utilizing the original video’s dancing crabs, which Noisestorm created himself using the program Unreal Engine.”
