EDC Orlando 2018 Review

EDC Orlando has never failed to bring a wonderful yet amazing event that is sure to leave a mark on all of its attendees. This past weekend, over 110,000 headliners attended the popular festival to experience what it’s all about, peace, love, unity, and, most of all, fun! For the past four years, I’ve had the great opportunity to attend this big Orlando event and, truthfully, the event has only gotten better and better each year.

This past EDC Orlando, famous performers came from around the world to play some of their epic sets and unreleased music. Beautiful decorations and colorful LED lighting hung all over the venue. Some attendees were zip lining across the lake that was centered in the middle of the festival while others took a ride on the crazy carnival rides. There was no way that you could have been bored at this festival because there was always something to do.

The stages at the event were phenomenal, just like they are every year. One of my favorites would definitely have to be KineticField, the main stage of the event. Transported from this past EDC Las Vegas, the main stage truly represented the festival's theme, love. The huge stage consisted of two gigantic structures of a man and a woman carrying a heart that constantly changed color. The lighting and pyrotechnics of the stage were so incredible; fireworks, fire, and water were constantly thrown into the air. By the end of day 2, the pyrotechnics were so lit that the main stage was literally on fire. The fire was very minimal and no one was hurt, but the pyrotechnics were off for the remainder of the festival for the safety of the attendees and performers. This surely didn't stop headliners from dancing the night away. Some of the artists that performed on this stage were Alesso, Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Alison Wonderland, and many more.

CircuitGrounds was just as incredible as the main stage. If you wanted your dose of head banging music or even just some trap music, then this was surely the stage to be at. Great performers, such as Illenium, Nitti Gritti, Saymyname, and Bassnectar, took the stage to play some amazing sets. There were even some incredible back to back sets such as 4B b2b GTA b2b Valentino Khan who absolutely crushed their performances. There was no way you couldn't dance to the insane beats that were being played at the stage.

Neon Garden was just as bass heavy as any of the other stages were. If you were a techno lover who was looking for some of the best techno music, then this was the stage for you. The circus tent stage platform was filled with people dancing to the sounds of some fantastic music makers such as Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber, and the Martinez Brothers. The lighting truly lit up the stage, giving you a nightlife atmosphere throughout the whole event.

The next stage truly impressed me. The Corona Electric Beach stage was surely one that you had to have gone to at least once. Created like an actual beach, the stage platform stood on top of real white sand that was surrounded by palm trees, giving it's audience a real beach like feel. An awning of grass hung above the heads of the audience as well. There were some intense performances from artists such as Nitti Gritti, Kayzo, G-Buck, Tegi, TooKind, and so many more. I found myself tempted to stay at the stage, urging myself to headbang to all the music that was being played. There was no way you couldn't have fun at this small yet amazing stage platform.

Last, but not least, the Boombox Artcar. Although the stage was smaller compared to the rest of the stages, the sound system was definitely intense, capturing the attention of all those who entered the festival. The first day of the festival was filled with many underground yet talented trance DJs such as OMAIR, Nifra, and Jochen Miller. During the second day, the stage was filled with trap performances from artists such as Egzod, Sharps, YDG, and Jayceeoh. If you were looking to discover some new music, then this was the stage for you.

Overall, EDC Orlando gave it's attendees an experience that they will never forget. From riding carnival rides to witnessing some unforgettable performances, there was always something to do. Insomniac surely knows how to put on a show that is incomparable to the rest of the music festivals from around the world. Once you get a taste of this event, you are sure to come back for more. I, for one, have never been disappointed with my experience there. Every year, I go to the festival knowing that I am going to have a one-of-a-kind experience. I urge all of you future headliners to make this event one of your top must go to festivals on your list. I promise you that you will not regret it.

Stay tuned for future announcements for next year's EDC Orlando.
