Midterm Elections are coming up quick, and political tensions in the United States have not been higher in several decades. This has turned into a massive tide of people coming out of the woodwork to register to vote.
Regardless of your political affiliation or feelings about the current administration, it is important to take part in the democratic process and voice your opinion in a place where it really counts (and not just social media). Several celebrities have chimed in urging fans to register to vote such as Taylor Swift.
Chicago based music festival, Spring Awakening found an original way to urge its followers into civic duty. One that has received a mix reaction from fans, to say the least. The festival pulled a fake out lineup announcement with a bit.ly link that directly followers directly to the register to vote page.
While many people were salty, several others pointed out that the festival is still NINE MONTHS AWAY. So anyone who didn't go into this post with a little bit of suspicion was bound to get burned.
