The Chainsmokers have received a lot of hate over the past two years or so since they have started to find massive success in the pop genres. After blowing up with hits like ‘SELFIE' the guys released a string of records as well as a full album that featured a more accessible sound for those not familiar with the electronic music. Lately, though it seems that The Chainsmokers are once again picking up steam in the dance music world.
Ultra Miami 2018
It all started with a performance at Ultra Miami this past March. The guys took to the main stage and burned the festival to the ground. By almost all accounts they had one of the best sets, some people even placed them above the reunion of Swedish House Mafia.
Their set was much more than just a return to their original sound – it was a statement piece that The Chainsmokers can still go as hard as anyone else. In a way, it served as the fulfillment of a promise made to fans a few years ago.
While it is a fact that The Chainsmokers started off the festival season strong, it seems that Alex and Drew have punched through to the other side as well. In their set at Creamfields in the UK, The Chainsmokers were once again hailed as one of the top performances of the weekend. The set featured major trap portions, wild live drumming and new music which fans have been drooling over. Check out the unbelievable set below.
