Ninja and Marshmello Win $1 Million Dollar Prize In Fortnite ProAm, Donate $500,000 To Charity

Marshmello and Ninja have proven that they are a truly unstoppable team, well at least when it comes to Fortnite. The guys teamed up to compete in the Fortnite ProAm competition taking place during this year’s E3 festivities. Marshmello wasn’t the only DJ to throw his hat (helmet?) into the ring. Arty was always competing in the competition among hundreds of other players.
Marshmello and Ninja made it to the final round, and despite falling behind early – the guys came back. Not surprising since this duo has some serious chemistry from playing with each out for nearly the last year.
Half A Million Donated To Chartiy
The win came with a big prize – bragging rights and one million dollars. Since Ninja nor Marshmello are exactly strapped for cash at the moment, the guys donated half of their reward, yes $500,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association. Now that is a class act move! Congratulations to Mello and Ninja!

The Start Of Marshmello’s Deep Gaming Ties
This win marked one of the earliest signs of just how deeply Marshmello was going to embed himself in gaming culture. His friendship and on-camera chemistry with Ninja, already one of the biggest names in streaming at the time, gave both of their fanbases a reason to cross over into each other’s worlds. That crossover appeal only grew from there, eventually leading to Marshmello becoming the first artist to headline a full in-game concert inside Fortnite itself, an event that reached millions of players simultaneously and reshaped how the music industry thought about virtual performances.
A Genuinely Meaningful Charity Gesture
Donating half of a million-dollar prize isn’t just a nice headline, it’s a real commitment, and choosing the Alzheimer’s Association specifically suggested a personal motivation behind the gift rather than a generic PR move. Pairing a lighthearted gaming win with a serious charitable cause is a combination that resonated with fans well beyond the usual dance music crowd, and it’s part of why this moment got shared so widely outside of typical EDM circles.
