Dada Life came back in full force in 2018. After a quiet year in terms of production in 2017, it has been refreshing to hear the duo's signature sound of electro goodness hit the digital streaming services once again. After a series of amazing singles, the banana obsessed production duo have dropped their full, new album, entitled ‘Our Nation'. So what is the verdict? How does the new Dada live up to the legendary productions that helped the guys break out initially? Well in short, ‘Our Nation' lives up to Dada Life's previous work, very, very well.
Dada Life – Our Nation
The new album is classic Dada Life. Styles range from full-on electro bangers to more lyrically driven thoughtful tunes. The one theme that ties them together is Dada Life's signature style of clean, catchy productions.
The album starts out with an anthemic, orchestral intro before diving head first into a taste of electro. Soon though a depth is developed through tracks like ‘Sunday F*** You Too' and ‘The World Can Burn'. The juxtaposition of relaxed productions with semi-ridiculous lyrics makes listening to this LP a lot of fun.
Dada Life even incorporated some expected elements into the album, like the acid-inspired ‘Higher Than The Sun'. The track melds the acid style with a catchy but classic synth line and vocal verse to create something entirely unique.
Dada Life has once again shown that they are true innovators in the dance music community. There isn't a track on ‘Our Nation' that seems out of place. We are thrilled that Dada Life is back in action, and cannot wait to hear these songs live as they begin once again to play live shows. Check out the full album below.
