Before his sudden passing, Avicii told Tiësto that he was inspired to get back into DJing ever since the Swedish House Mafia reunion at Ultra last month.
Despite retiring from DJing in 2016 due to health reasons, Tiësto revealed during an interview with SiriusXM that he almost came to Ultra to see Swedish House Mafia perform there.
“He texted me: ‘I might come.' I think when they got back together on stage, that was an inspiration for him as well to go back to DJing.”
Despite retiring from touring, Avicii managed to still release music and had confirmed a number of songs to be released.
