UTA Breaks Into EDM and Acquires Circle Talent Agency

Earlier this week, United Talent Agency, better known as UTA has decided to expand their client portfolio significantly by acquiring the EDM-heavy label, Circle Talent.

UTA's current roster includes artists like G-Eazy, AlunaGeorge, DJ Khaled, Guns ‘N' Roses, Post Malone and X Ambassadors, amongst a long list of artists spanning across multiple genres. Circle Talent's artists are primarily electronic producers including people like Snails, Kaskade, Marshmello, Excision, Illenium (pictured above) – the list could go on. Circle Talen's co-founders Steve Gordon and Kevin Gimble will take on the roles of co-heads of UTA's electronic music division while working closely with the global head of music, David Zedeck.

“The acquisition of Circle Talent Agency is a tremendous addition for UTA as we continue to build momentum in our music business,” said UTA Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Zimmer. “Electronic music is now a multi-billion dollar business and one of the fastest-growing genres. Having Circle, its talented agents and incredible roster under our umbrella immediately establish a major connection for us with the next generation of music fans, and UTA as a leader in the dance space.”

Additionally, a rep for Circle Talent Agency said that all agents representing electronic artists will move over to UTA, while other staff members were unfortunately laid off.

Circle Talent founders, Gordon and Gimble said, “We have watched UTA evolve into a major entertainment company with global reach and we felt now was the perfect time to combine our resources to provide even greater opportunities for our clients. We’re excited to join a growing music team that shares our client-first values.”

Circle Talent's staff will be an addition to the 90+ agents amongst six offices globally. This new partnership is sure to bring a major expansion in the EDM community and it'll be interesting to see how the increase in resources will benefit some of our favorite EDM artists.
