Andrea Helfrich has the job that many people could only dream of. Andrea didn't start her career with Ultra though. In fact, Andrea's career began in broadcasting at 20 years of age.
Andrea's first job was working for a Fox affiliate news channel, From there Andrea joined a YouTube channel called EpicEDM. Since finding her love for dance music, Andrea Helfrich has been lucky enough to join the Ultra Family and travel around the world with one of the biggest music festival companies in the world.
When speaking to Andrea about Ultra's history, she said that “it's amazing to see what Ultra Music Festival has done in the past 20 years in Miami.” With 47 events in 24 countries, Ultra has been a worldwide recognized event in the history of dance music. Andrea feels privileged to be apart of the movement and the Ultra Family. “It's in our blood to make Ultra the best it can be every year,” says Helfrich. “The magnitude of this event is incredible.” She said that whether you're doing lighting for the event or working behind-the-scenes, every single person takes a bit of ownership to make Ultra be the best it can be.
As thousands of viewers are expected to tune into this year's Ultra Live Stream, Ultra Music Festival tends to set the stage for what the artist's year will tend to look like. Looking back at when Zedd brought out Alessia Cara last year and when Avicii debuted his new sound, Ultra Music Festival is at the epicenter of setting the tone for the artist's year.
In addition to working with Ultra Music Festival, Andrea has also joined with the NHL Flyers as the TV and in-arena host. “It's amazing to connect fans with the players off the ice.” When people watch hockey, it's often hard to know who is behind the pads and helmets. Andrea says that she loves to give a behind the scenes look at the NHL players and who they are in real life.
