What So Not Drops ‘Beautiful’ 3rd Single Off Upcoming Album

What So Not is back with his 2nd track of 2018, and the 3rd single off of his upcoming album ‘Not All Beautiful Things'. The single titled ‘Beautiful' is a little bit of a different style from What So Not has released over the past few years as he goes full blown house on this latest release.

‘Beautiful' starts off like most What So Not tracks have done lately – with angelic vocals, this time by Winona Oak. The track then takes a turn into a direction that I personally did not see coming; at around 55 seconds this track becomes a powerful house tune. For the rest of the track an infectious house groove rides through the vocals of Oak, and a super catchy vocal chop that I can't describe, but when you hear it you will know exactly what i'm talking about.

What So Not on the track – ‘Beautiful’ enters delicately with Winona's internal dialog. There's a sense of optimism, anxiousness & longing, but also an undertone of sadness. All reinforced with the incredible duality along her vocal range. It’s always intrigued me how this song evokes such a feeling of freedom & open space yet the protagonist sounds quite troubled. I think the hypnotic & intoxicating energy of the production also adds to this perplexity. We put this together in the jungle of Nicaragua which definitely had a sizable impact on the sound pallet but one of my favorite things has to be how ‘Robert Plant' Ryan McMahon (Captain Cuts) managed to propel his vocal ad lib.'Emoh

The amount of excitement I have for ‘Not All Beautiful Things' is growing each and every day, and so far, all 3 of the releases have been absolutely amazing.
