Legendary house diva Angie Brown teams up with UK producers Covenants on new single “Hold That Sucker Down”.
This fresh rework of O.T. Quartet’s ‘90s classic combines the original iconic synth hook with thumping house grooves and fresh production flair, led by Angie’s powerhouse vocals.
“It’s such a great collaboration to be asked by Covenants to put my spin on a real floor-filling classic,” Angie said. “It’s an honour to sing this song, and I think we’ve breathed life into it and given Hold That Sucker Down the justice it deserves!”
A world-renowned singer and songwriter, and true icon in the house music and LGBT+ scenes, Angie Brown launched as a co-artist on Bizarre Inc’s smash “I’m Gonna Get You”, now a undisputed club classic. Angie has since performed vocals for the likes of Grace Jones and Fat Boy Slim.
Production duo Covenants are a rising name in UK dance, releasing on some of the biggest labels in the game including Spinnin’, Perfect Havoc and Hardwell’s Gemstone. They have picked up recent support from TCTS, Sam Divine, Gorgon City and Idris Elba. “Hold That Sucker Down” looks set to take the pair to new heights in 2024.
