Matoma teams with Noah Cyrus for 1st single off upcoming debut studio album

Norwegian DJ/producer Matoma has teamed up with rising popstar Noah Cyrus to release the brand new single, Slow,” from his debut studio album, One In A Million– available everywhere March 9th via Big Beat Records.

A potent cocktail of booming bass, punchy beats, waves of synths and Noah’s towering topline, Slow” finds Matoma on peak form. His flair for immediately infectious pop-infused songwriting is stronger than ever, and his production simmers with the uplifting summery traits that have permeated his discography to date.

Matoma says, “I first heard Noah's voice on her song ‘Make Me Cry’ and was blown away. She has so much soul and personality. I got in touch with her, and we worked back and forth while I was in Norway and she was on the road. This idea for ‘Slow’ came together and it felt super special. I wanted to push my sound and also do something different from before, and with her singing on it this felt so right. I'm soon going on a big and exciting tour for my new album and I really wanted to put out a banger to get things started, and this feels like a banger!”

“I was so excited to do ‘Slow’ with Matoma,” adds Noah Cyrus“The song is lyrically so beautiful and the production brings it all to life.”

Along with the single release comes the announcement of Matoma’s debut studio album, One In A Million (Big Beat Records).

“In the past few years since I’ve been making music, I’ve been so lucky to have travelled the world, worked with some incredible artists and met my amazing supporters and fans,” he continues. “For me this is a one in a million opportunity and I say it every day – without my fans there would be no Matoma. Every single person in the crowd is special, we all have hearts, soul, passion and dreams. That is what this album is about. I have worked on this for so long and I'm beyond excited to finally start sharing it with you.”

Matoma will preview the album by embarking upon his ‘One In A Million’ world tour in January. Featuring stops at Los Angeles’ famed Fonda Theatre and NY’s iconic Terminal 5, the ‘One In A Million’ tour is certified carbon positive by CHOOOSE, an initiative that works with the United Nations to reduce the total carbon footprint and create a climate positive experience.

$1 from each ticket sold on for the U.S. dates on the  ‘One In A Million’ tour will support Red Cross Disaster Relief. This support enables the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small. Proceeds from Canadian concerts will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross. Of the decision to release the album on the last day of the tour, Matoma says “I wanted to share the album with my fans first, playing all the new music at shows on this tour and then releasing it on the day of my last show in Trondheim, in the same venue where I played my first ever DJ set and the city I have lived in the last six years. I'm putting my heart into this, with new music, a whole new live production and some amazing new support artists. I’m bringing you something I feel is special and that represents my musical vision in a new and exciting form. The ‘Hakuna Matoma’ campaign has been filled with amazing memories, joy and happiness, but now it’s time to take it to the next level.”
