The year is wrapping up quickly. It is bizarre to think that it is almost Turkey time when Ultra felt like yesterday. But as 2017 comes to a close it is time to reflect on the progress we made as a dance music industry as a whole. Obviously this includes at look back at some of the standout releases of the year. Sadly though many incredible songs hit the airwaves and were not given the love that they truly deserved.

Leave it to Reddit to step in a choose their favorite under appreciated and underrated songs on 2017. Honestly this was an awesome thread to read as it even introduced me to a handful of bad ass tracks I would have never heard if it weren't for these people's input. The track which was upvoted the most on the thread was Jai Wolf's ‘Starlight', an amazing and emotional tune that didn't even break the million stream mark even after being released on Odesza's Foreign Family imprint.
The next in line in terms of upvotes was a track I was not even familiar with, but thank god I came across this as DROELOE – ‘Sunburn' has no doubt found a special spot in my heart. The release comes off of Monstercat and unfortunately fell through the cracks but this one is an instant classic.
Third Party – ‘Have No Fear' came in next on the list. Redditor /u/JohnCenaMadness remarked that the song probably did not get the deserved love because progressive as a genre took the back burner to bass music in 2017. None the less this track is downright beautiful.
Remixes were featured on the list as well. Trilane & YARO – ‘Miss Out' (Nicky Romero Edit), Dogzilla – ‘Without You' (Will Atkinson Remix), AC Slater & Chris Lorenzo – ‘Fly Kicks' (Wax Motif Remix) and Flume – ‘Insane' (Kaivon Remix) were the most noteworthy remixes to make this year's list. Overall the thread contains so much good music you may not be familiar with you need to go check it out. You can do so here. What was your most underrated song of 2017? Let us know in the comments.
