SoundCloud Alternative Sites For Streaming and Sharing Music

SoundCloud has been the preferred website for years to discover and share music. Due to unfortunate circumstances, SoundCloud has been under scrutiny by major labels to take action on copyrighted materials and unauthorized samplings.

In addition to these copyright takedown requests, SoundCloud employees have not been too favorable on the longevity of SoundCloud.

Here are some SoundCloud alternatives for discovering and sharing music:

Auidomack may just be one of our favorite sites to replace SoundCloud. Audiomack's layout is clean, well-designed and focuses on what the user's really want. Every single feature was thought out and is one of the best websites similar to that of SoundCloud.

Mixcloud hosts a number of podcasts, radio shows and artists. The service allows for on the go listening with its easy to use mobile app. Benefits on MixCloud include more space than SoundCloud, pays royalties to the artists and promises to not take down your music.

Bandcamp is a great alternative that is great for discovering new music and allows the artists to give away their music for free or for a fee. Benefits on Bandcamp include ease of use for the musician to set their own price on music, fill out a profile and operate as an independent storefront.

Mixcrate is another service that caters to the musician. DJs can upload new mixes (unlimited uploads) and share them with their communities. Mixcrate clearly defines what a DJ mix is, so no one runs into any legal or copyright issues.

8Tracks has been around for awhile and offers the ability to upload your own tracks and discover songs based upon your mood, the time of the day and what you're feeling at the moment.

Orfium is the new music streaming platform focused on the content creators.

While YouTube currently only has the ability to listen to music from videos, it is an excellent way of discovering and sharing music.
