Tom & Collins Re-Imagine “Give Me One Reason” with Deep Dance Undertones

In rebooting a classic, an artist always needs to produce with caution in order to maintain the integrity of the original. In rebooting 1995's Grammy-award winning song of the year, however, it is especially important to maintain that integrity.

Men of Mexico City, Tom & Collins, recently re-imagined that song: “Give Me One Reason” by Tracy Chapman. Ultimately, the duo stays true to the original, while still deepening the overall production as a modern dance number. Others have remixed Chapman's other hit, “Fast Car,” but Tom & Collins went another route for the 1995 song of the year. Operating with organic guitar chops over a more contemporary dance production, Tom & Collins put together a beautiful reboot, re-imagined and radio ready.
