One of the best parts of an early onset summer is the bum rush to declare “The Hit of the Summer”. While a hard title to earn, XY&O‘s newest release might be a contender. The Welsh electro-pop trio first made big waves on the scene with their breathy, 80's inspired pop hit Low Tide. Through sold out shows and mounds of schoolwork, the young group has crafted an intimate Powder Rooms EP that's set to release later in the year.
Fans of RUFUS, Ahh Ooh, and Klyne will surely dig the sheen and shimmery vibes of “One More Night”. Under the surface of the catchy soundscape lies a deeper message on human connection. Front-man Skip Curtis elaborates:
“The narrative of the EP is focused on the relationships we have with one another… what we need from one another and what we expect from one another. Our lives are defined by the people we share them with and the context in which we coexist. They are defined not only by the people we are closest with but also by the seemingly insignificant fleeting meetings we have every day. Ships in the night still cause waves.”
